I mentioned the only differences between this and a normal trekking pole are the grips, the strap, and the anti-shock. The carbide tip fits anything another trekking pole would ... and the umbrella closes quite nicely against the pole itself. If you look up a picture of it, you will probably see it will do just well. You might just get your compass dirty a little bit.
