When planning for my long anticipated anniversary trip in April of 2007, I knew that I had to go to Kona Cafe for breakfast. I had extensively researched this vacation. Read many menus and was assured my many sources that this was the place to have breakfast.
We arrived and were seated promptly. That's where the positives of our visit end.
Our service was horrible. Instead of checking on us, our server literally spent the entire time we were there chatting with the family seated directly behind us. They were from the same state, which gave them lots of items for discussion.
We were very disappointed in the lack of ambiance. The restaurant is right off of the monorail enterance and is almost fully open to the lobby. It was noisy and not at all intimate. When paying the inflated prices for breakfast I would expect a little ambiance.
My husband had the omlet, which was fine, but nothing more than what you'd get at any Denny's. I had the Tonga Toast which had been higly recommended. It greasy, had an off taste about it, and was so sugary that it literally made me sick.
For the price we will not return to Kona Cafe ever. There are much better places to eat on property that cost much less.

Notes, Tips or Menu Recommendations I would stick with the ''regular'' here. The items that were different did not taste good, and I have an adventurous palette Best Suited For: Kids and Families
