bobmp3_99's Full Review: Koss TM-602 Consumer Headphones
Once upon a midnight dreary. Sorry, once upon a time I needed some really cheap headphones. I refused to purchase the ones from the dollar store as they only came in poor blue and urine yellow. I get the creeps thinking about the headphones at the dollar store. So I head off to Wal-Mart. I look for the cheapest headphones I could find to use with my computer.
Aha! Alas I found some cheap headphones for only $5. I go nuts and I grab a set off the shelf as quickly as I possibly could. I run around the store in joy that I've ended my search in decent and cheap headphones.
Comfort is my key issue.
Well I open the package and I quickly put these headphones on. I find that these feel comfortable to my ears and head. I have tried headphones such as those new sony things and I don't like them. They provide good sound but they make my ears sore after a while. I happen to have a low maintnance hairstyle and I don't mind having my earphones hang over top my head.
Sounds good to me.
I tend to listen to punk rock music from bands such as Guttermouth, 30 foot FALL, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, and The Vandals. Usually bass response isn't a major issue while listening to this style of music. If I want to listen to heavy bass, then I'll just unplug my headphones from my speakers and listen to them. These headphones sound good even at really high frequencies. They also do well at performing sound while the 3D Enhancement is enabled on my sound card control.
These headphones are alright for late night gamers like me. I like to play gun and grenade games at 4am and I usually don't want my mom fussing about the explosions that are heard from my room and I don't want to get caught being up that late. But its not bad as I don't wake up till 10:30am and I usually take a TV nap on the futon upstairs to regain energy. Well these headphones are good for people who want to listen to music and game at odd hours without bothering people.
Good Value.
I've had my current pair for about 7 months and they still work just fine. The foam seemed to mold to my ears after so much use and I refuse to use any other brand or type of earphones. These headphones come with an extra set of foams just in case the existing ones on the set get damaged. Now that is what I call quality. The only problem with these headphones is the fact that they don't make you feel as special as those other 15 dollar ones. But hell, I'm too cheap for that and I'd rather invest on new computer hardware.
Anyhow. If you are really cheap and you don't want dollar store headphones, then get a set of these. You will be happy because of it.
