Pros:Good value, plenty of space, balls are secure

Cons:Weak handle, an extra strap would be nice

The Bottom Line: A good value for a double ball roller. May not be the strongest on the market, but it has plenty of room for the price.

After lugging my bowling equipment over my shoulder with a traditional bag over the years, I finally got a 2 ball as a Christmas gift a few years ago in the shape of a KR Eliminator 2 Ball Roller. The bag served me well for a couple of years before I made the decision to upgrade my arsenal and switch to a 3 ball roller. Although this bag has since been thrown out, it definitely got the job done over the years.

If you're looking for something to hold only two bowling balls, you can definitely do worse than the KR Eliminator. The main compartment of the bag has two cups for your bowling balls, and they are separated into two separate "compartments" with a piece of padding to prevent the balls from colliding. The bag definitely holds the balls in place very nicely. In addition to having plenty of space for two balls, the Eliminator also has plenty of room on top to fit your shoes and other equipment. I don't carry around an overwhelming amount of stuff with me when bowling, but I have never had any trouble fitting my various accessories in the top compartment with my shoes. There is also a compartment on the side for extra space, but I personally never had any need to use it.

The bag's dimensions, accoridng to bowlingball.com are 11.5"W x 14"D x 23"H. Basically, the bag does not take up any more room than it has to. Since it is only a two ball roller, it takes up considerably less space than my new bag. The extendable handle is long enough to also support another ball if desired, as many people have attached something to hold say, a spare ball, to the handle. I personally have never done this because one thing I have noticed about the handle is that it does not feel overwhelmingly sturdy. Although it is obviously strong enough to pull two 16 pound balls through the parking lot, I had doubts about the handle's ability to support a third ball in one of those temporary holders.

My biggest complaint about the bag was the lack of a strap on top of the bag by the handle. The bag's only straps are above the shoe comparment, so it can only be carried from its laying position. The other option would be to roll the bag. This makes stairs a little more difficult to navigate than it does with other bags. If there were an extra strap near the handle, you would not need to change positions of the bag to lift it up or down the steps. Using the handle is definitely NOT recommended for this purpose - it can definitely result in some jamming. Even though just one simple strap may not seem like a big difference, it definitely would make stairs a little less awkward with this bag.

I got about 3 years of use out of this bag before upgrading to my current Storm 3 ball roller. I made the change for two reasons - first of all, I completely overhauled my arsenal, as I previously mentioned. However, the second reason is that after about three years of regular use (nothing out of the ordinary by any means), the bottom supports of the bag that held it upright eventually broke off. Unfortunately I lost the screws that held it in place, so I had to reattach it with new ones. It was a nice, temporary solution, but probably a little more trouble that it was worth. It is definitely worth noting that the bag does come with a 5 year warranty, but I of course lost the paperwork long ago and was unable to take advantage of this.

The KR Eliminator is definitely not a bad option for a 2 ball roller. With a MSRP of around $80 it is definitely a good value, especially for someone who just recently purchased a second ball. It may not be the best roller on the market, and other brands definitely make more durable bags, but you are definitely getting a good value here. I did get several years of use out of this bag, and never had any issues with space either. The bag could definitely benefit from a stronger handle and an additional hand strap in that area, but otherwise this is not a bad bag to start out with when you decide to add another ball to your arsenal.
