Pros:Delectable, tasty, affordable
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Comfort food, clear and simple.
I love macaroni & cheese, but I don’t always have the time to prepare a dish from scratch. In those times, when time is of the essence, I turn to Kraft Home-Style Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner. Now this isn’t the regular ole Kraft Mac & Cheese with the powered cheese, that tastes like it was made for children, or others without a discriminating palate, Kraft Home-Style Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner comes complete with a package of real cheese (not powered), elbow macaroni, a seasoning packet, and breadcrumbs.
To this one adds ½ cup-o- milk, and butter. Once the ingredients are mixed together in a pot and pre-heated the whole thing is folded into a pan and baked in the oven for five or ten minutes.
My Opinion
Kraft Home-Style Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner makes a great side dish for almost any meat and vegetable, but I like to pair it with either fried or baked chicken, pork chops, or fried catfish. The 12.6oz package packs a fair amount of flavor, and serves up at least four.
I have to admit that the package has a little more flavor than the regular Kraft Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner; it most likely due to the flavor packet. Depending on the meal I may or may not use the breadcrumbs.
While the product is good right out of the package I like to “doctor” it up occasionally with fresh bacon bits, a touch of hickory smoked BBQ sauce, sliced-up all beef hotdogs or sausage, onions, or mushrooms; yes I typed mushrooms! Regardless of how you eat Kraft Home-Style Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner, have some; it’s cheap ($2.59 per 12.6oz package) at your local Super Target. At 14g of fat per serving, it may not be good for you, but it certainly is GOOD!
Kraft Home-Style Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner is packaged in the following two additional flavors: Hearty Four Cheese, Creamy Parmesan Alfredo, Sharp Cheddar & Bacon, and Classic Cheddar.
