| bizzimommi's Full Review: Kroger Brand Comforts for Baby Comfortable Fit Dia... |
Before my husband was laid off from his job in May of this year I had not used a store brand diaper of any kind on my youngest son. When it came to my preference, I was a Huggies mom with the occasional Pampers or Luvs diaper thrown in the mix, but desperate times called for desperate measures and sometimes I would have to buy what we could afford at the time. While my experimenting with all of the off brand diapers was a trying time, it also taught me what things were most important in any diaper whether it be the most extravagant well known brand or the least expensive off brand at your local discount store. Luckily I have found an affordable diaper that I can trust in the Krogers Comforts Brand Diapers. They are a good quality diaper that nearly any budget can afford.
Packaging
Comforts Brand Diapers come in a lime green plastic packaging with smaller dark green dots which is very appealing to the eye. In fact, this lime green package is relatively new and is much more attractive and welcoming from the shelf than the old packaging. In fact, this change in packing was what convinced me to give these diapers a try. On the front of the package is a picture of a child as well as what must be the Comforts brand mascot which is a cute little baby bee. Along with these pictures there is a bit of info for the consumer. For example my size 6 package shows this information...
Comforts for Baby
Comfortable Fit Diapers
Dry Lock System Absorbs Day and Night
*Soft, Cloth-like Outer Cover *Super soft Waist for a Comfortable Fit
The front of the package also lists the diaper count and size plus weight recommendations for that size. My sons size is 6 and the weight recommendation listed is 35+ lbs. In a jumbo size package of Comforts diapers in this size you recieve 23 diapers.
On the edge of the packaging there is the normal warnings about the plastic packaging and patent information. But then below this information was something that caught my eye. Kroger Brand Comforts Diapers are Quality Guaranteed. Along with listing the contact information for the company, the guarantee reads....
If you are not completely satisfied with this product return it for a refund or replacement.
Good to know, right?
The Diaper
When you open up your packaging of Kroger's Comfort Brand Diapers and pull out the first diaper this is what you can expect to find. The diaper is all white except for the band across the front waist where the velcro attaches to from the back of the diaper. On this band is the number that represents the size of your diaper as well as many little pictures of the cute baby bee featured on the packaging. The diaper is soft to the touch. If you open up the diaper you will notice the elastic that fits around your baby's legs to prevent leaks, just like that in the national brand diapers. Another feature that is very similar to national brand diapers is the tabs that you pull from the back to secure the diaper in the front. The comforts pull tabs have velcro closures and stretch a good bit to make sure that you are getting the perfect fitting for your individual child.
Experience
I have been using Kroger brand Comfort diapers on and off for about 6 months now and have had consistant and reliable results the whole time. My son is very active at 22 months old and gives any kind of product a real test in quality, these diapers have been no exception and have held up extremely well. They are very absorbant and can hold the same amount as the national brand diapers that I have used. These diapers don't tear or leak except for the occasional freak accident which you can expect when using any brand of diaper. These diapers seem to fit my son well, never leaving any red or raw areas where other diaper brands tend to rub. I also have noticed less diaper rash or chaffing when using these diapers as well.
Value/Price/Availability
Krogers Comforts Brand diapers have been such an amazing find in these times when money has been short. A jumbo pack of these diapers run from $6 to $7 a pack depending on the sale flyer for the week at my local Kroger store. For the size six pack that is about 30 cents per diaper which is an exceptional value for my money! Being that Comforts is an exculsive Kroger Brand diaper, these diapers are only available in those areas of the country where Kroger stores are based. With many in my area, I know that I can run to the store and always find these diapers stocked and ready to go in the cart.
Recommendation
I would absolutely recommend Krogers Comfort Brand diapers to any parent who is looking for a great value in a good diaper. After trying many different brands of diapers I would definitely pick Comforts as the best store brand diaper on the market which even could be comparable to some national brands. These diapers are worth a try and worth your money and if you are for some reason unhappy with your own results remember the Quality Guarantee listed on the package. You have nothing to lose trying Krogers Comforts Diapers, yet a whole lot of money that can be saved by buying these instead of the more expensive national brands.
