| mwsummers99's Full Review: Krups 239 Power X Plus 14-Speed Blender |
We received this blender for free using a special sales incentive promotion from Krups. I was working as a salesperson for Crate & Barrel and sold enough Krups products to earn two of these blenders. We kept one and gave one to my mother in law.
I don't know that I ever would have spent the money on such a nice blender since we use it to blend drinks, but I am glad to have this blender. It has held up very well through six years of our parties and backyard barbeques and all of the frozen drinks we have served at these events. Not to mention my husband's addiction to fruit smoothies for breakfast. After five years of use, we have never had any problems with this blender.
My mother in law has also had great luck with the Krups blender. She has had no problems and when she did break the glass pitcher she simply called Krups and another was shipped out to her. This was free of charge, and remember that we didn't even buy these blenders! I was quite impressed with that kind of service and have a lot of confidence in Krups products because of that kind of response.
The blender itself is easy to use- simply fill it and turn it on. The power burst button is very handy when trying to mix ingredients and get extra air into a drink. The ice crushing feature is also handy when making frozen drinks like margarita's. It allows you to pre-crush the ice so there are fewer lumps of ice in the drink. This blender is also easy to clean, simply unscrew the bottom of the pitcher and remove all of the parts. Each piece can be put in the dishwasher and thoroughly cleaned. Use care when handling the blade component- it is very sharp! The glass pitcher comes out of the dishwasher looking brand new each time, unlike some plastic pitchers that start to look quite beat up after going through the dishwasher.
There are cheaper blenders on the market, but the Krups Power X Blender is worth the investment. The glass pitcher makes it durable (mine still looks new after six years) and the Krups name is worth the extra money. They make good products and stand behind them when things go wrong.
