I got a Krups Power X blender several years ago on Onsale.com. It was new and only cost me about $15. I wanted to be able to blend just about everything, especially crush ice. This blender is wonderful. I can make soups, hummus, cheesecake, frozen drinks ... you name it. Now I'm making wonderful fruit smoothies. This blender crushes ice and other frozen things. It has a great glass container that is very easy to clean and a very sturdy plastic lid. I place the container in the dishwasher and that's that. It comes clean and is ready to use again. The blades are very sharp, but not too sharp for those times when I clean the blender by hand. My only problem is that the ice crushing feature doesn't work well when I'm trying to crush ice with nothing else in the blender. Otherwise, I think this is a great product. I am not in a big hurry to have a food processor as long as my blender continues to perform.
