Kyojin - Hello, I'm Mona, and I'm an addict.

Pros:Huge selection of Japanese seafood and other items. And, oh yeah, Sushi!
Cons:A bit crowded, and a slightly disorganized buffet.
The Bottom Line: When I need my Sushi fix, this is where I'm going!

I've very recently become an addict. Unfortunately, the product of my new addiction is quite expensive. So, if I can find some "good stuff", and I can have as much of it as I want, at a reasonable, fixed price, I'm happy. That's why I'm thrilled to have discovered Kyojin - a Japanese seafood (sushi!!) buffet.

There are four locations in South Florida, but the one I go to is in Boca Raton. For sushi lovers, this buffet is like Disneyland. As sushi is a newly discovered addiction for me, I love being able to try all different kinds. And they're all labeled so you know exactly what you're trying. They have your basic rolls, some fancy-looking rolls, and the even fancier-looking handrolls. Tuna, salmon, eel, vegetarian, and egg are just some of the varieties. They also have sashimi. Everything that I tried was out of this world delicious. The constant replenishment by the sushi chefs ensures that everything is fresh.

But if sushi's not your thing, don't worry, you can still come here. They have a full salad bar, and cold shrimp, mussels, crawfish and oysters. On weekends they add Alaskan snow crab for dinner. They have miso, hot and sour, and wonton soups.

Still not interested? Then let me tell you about the hot items. There's tempura, beef and chicken teriyaki, dumplings, calamari, pork chops, spring rolls and fried rice.

And, as if all of that weren't enough, there are two grill stations! One station features ribs, chicken, and steak. Grilled to order with a variety of sauces. The other station is where you can customize your meal. Pick your proteins and your veggies and watch them stir fry it all together for you. I indulged in some shrimp with bean sprouts. It was simply delicious.

It's a bit of an odd setup, though. Thanks to the "L-shaped" buffet, those waiting for the grilled items to be cooked have no choice but to block the pathway to the soups and hot foods. This is my only real complaint about this restaurant. As it's a minor one, it certainly doesn't keep me away. It just irks me, because I know I would have designed it differently.

For desserts, there are some fruits (canned), cookies, pastries, and ice cream.

Atmosphere

The dining room is nice, clean, and fairly big. It does get crowded, especially on Saturday nights, so you might have to wait a while. There is plenty of parking as this restaurant is located in a large shopping center. Reservations are accepted for parties of 10 or more.

The service is fine. As soon as you arrive at your table, a server will take your drink order. Drinks will be refilled promptly, and dirty plates usually cleared before you're back with the next plate.

The prices are unbelievably reasonable considering what you get:

Dinner: $18.95 weekend, $16.95 weekday
Lunch: $10.95 weekend, $9.35 weekday
Children under 10 everyday: Lunch $6.95, Dinner $8.95

Highly Recommend!
