Freak369's Full Review: LEGO Cannonball Jimmy Shark - . 7082 - [7 pcs]
If you have a child that is into Lego or pirates, there is a great subtheme in the 4 Juniors line. These are designed to be easier to build and are sandwiched in between Duplo and standard Lego sets. It allows kids an easier build without sacrificing detail and the ability to use their imagination to make new things from the elements. One of the biggest perks of this set is the shark; there are more than a few different colors to choose from when you are picking out sharks from brick vendors but this one is super sweet. Usually you get one of the darker gray sharks and while they are great they are common pieces. This one is white but not bone white or pearlized white so it looks a little better if you are planning on adding it to other pirate themed sets. The jaw is the only movable piece to this sea creature so do not believe websites that say that it has a movable tail or that it is battery operated and will dive and rise. That is complete phooey.
Cannonball Jimmy is one of the regular figures in the 4 Juniors series of pirate sets. He is a well done figure with a lot of detail to it but you have to see it up close to really be able to appreciate it. The stenciled facial detail adds an excellent touch to the set; he's missing a side tooth, has bushy eyebrows and is bald but that's not a problem as he has a red pirate scarf on his head. One of the funniest things about this is that he has a peg leg, as soon as Annabelle saw this she looked at me, at my leg, back at Jimmy then back at my leg. "Yours is way cooler than his". Yes, I do have to admit, my Terminator styled leg is a lot better than the old school wooden ones. One interesting touch to this figure is the peg piece that attaches to the leg joint has brown connectors so the designers did do a bit of thinking with this one. There is some great detailed detail on the chest too but the overall color combination of red and green does leave a little bit to be desired. This is something that plagues a lot of the pirate mini figures in the 4 Juniors series. It’s not like those were the only two colors that they had to choose from.

In addition to the shark and Cannonball Jimmy you also get a brown treasure chest, one gem and a sword. Yes, that is it, that's all there is to this set. The average selling price of this is about five dollars and part of that is because of the inclusion of the shark. Jimmy is a little nicer looking than some of the other 4 Juniors pirates but it's his peg leg that gives him the edge. This only comes with one gem / jewel so you can't really make use of the treasure chest. Lego has never released a gem stone supplement set so you will have to harvest these from other sets that include them or buy them individually from brick vendors.
This makes for a great add on set for kids that are in to the regular Lego Pirate or 4 Juniorspirate themed sets. I wouldn’t pay more than five dollars for it if I came across it again because most of the elements can be bought individually or taken from other sets. I bought this from someone that was selling a multi piece lot on eBay so I paid one price for multiple sets. I knew that there were going to be a few sets that were average but I couldn't pass up the awesome price on the sets because there were several that had a retail price of about twenty dollars. If you are looking for an extra figure that stands out from the rest or need a shark and you find this for a reasonable price it is worth getting but it is strictly a an add on set and not a stand alone.
The other sets in the 4 Juniors Pirate theme include the following: 7070 "Catapult Raft", 7071 "Treasure Island", 7072 "Captain Kragg's Pirate Boat", 7073 "Pirate Dock", 7074 "Skull Island", 7075 "Captain Redbeard's Pirate Ship", 7080 "Scurvy Dog and Crocodile", 7081 "Hardtack Harry And Monkey", 7082 "Cannonball Jimmy And Shark" and 7090 "Captain Kragg In Barrel".
