LEGO Minifigures: Clockwork Robot — Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto

Pros:Nice retro look; good unique pieces; has a personality
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: The Clockwork Robot from LEGO Minifigures Series 6 definitely captures that old sci-fi retro look.
A lot of interesting characters have been created for the LEGO collection. LEGO Minifigures Series 6 keeps up with the trend by releasing the Clockwork Robot, which is a combination of steampunk and the 1950s sci-fi flicks.
Right off the bat, you can tell that this is a very unique figure just because he doesn’t conform to the basic LEGO head. Instead, an entirely new design is implemented for this entity. He has a boxed shaped head with round, bulging eyes and antennae used for his ears. In fact put a skirt on him and he looks like Rosie from the Jetsons cartoon.
The Clockwork Robot is mostly cast in light grey plastic with some splashes of colour added onto him, such as the red gloves and cyan waist. The chest plate shows off big knobs and speakers. I like the line chart and bolts splashed around his chest. The legs show off some spring-like contraption with bolts for the finishing touch on his feet.
I love the idea of a wind-up robot. A small piece attaches to his back along with a key to wind him up. It almost feels like he can walk just by doing that action. He doesn’t come with any other accessory other than the black display stand.
These blind-packaged figures make it harder to figure out exactly which one you will possess once the contents are opened. Lately these are selling for $2.99 and as high as $3.99 just for Series 6. I can say it’s not worth the $3.99 price tag so always go lower whenever you can.
The Clockwork Robot is a great addition in this collection of oddities. I really love the retro look and makes me wish that this robot can actually walk and make noise. More importantly this looks like a tin man searching for a heart just for the personality exuding from this character.
