Pros: Unbelievable sound after a good break-in (25-30hrs)
Cons: Will make you want Martin Logan's for your big stereo.
The Bottom Line: Buy them. They are sonic and visual works of art.

| z32nut's Full Review: Planar PM-9 |
I've had them for about six months, I felt it was time to add my two bits.
The sound
Planar arrays and electrostatics have always been my favorite type of speaker. But until I win the lottery, I don't see a set of Martin Logan's in my future any time soon. These however are a wonderful place to start. Everything to love about ML's is here. The transparency of sound, the richness of the mids and highs, the tight, controlled bass. If you get your kicks from rap, and heavy bass dance tracks these aren't for you.
The Look
Compared to a usual boxy PC speaker, these things look straight out of sci-fi. I know the theory behind planars and electrostatics, but sometimes I still just sit in wonder that such quality comes out of something so small. But they are no lightweights. There is some serious stuff inside those thin cases. Build quality is top notch.
The sub box lives down, behind my desk. Black box, some connections, a switch. Whoopee. But out of it comes what the planars are unable to produce.
Overall I LOVE these things. You will have to get over having 128 bit MP3's in your collection. They just don't cut it. 160 and up really allow these speakers to shine. Quiet or loud, the quality is very evident. No need to blast them to make them sound good.
