| g0ld's Full Review: LG-V111 Cell Phone |
I just got this cell phone this week. My other cell phone had basically died so I went to Verizon Wireless to get a replacement. Well, needless to say, Verizon Wireless doesn’t make my old cell phone anymore. So I had to pick out another cell phone, which was going to cost me extra because all their cell phones are rather nice compared to my old cell phone. So a staff worker showed me the V 111 cell phone and I immediately liked the style. They re-programmed my new cell phone and I paid the extra $25 for the phone and I left. This cell phone runs about $100, but since I had a bad cell phone they gave me a great discount.
I got home and I started looking at all the features that are on the V 111. I searched the cell phone and all its buttons and I was amazed at all this cell phone has to offer.
Size
Probably the best feature of this cell phone is how tiny it comes. The V 111 has a little flip out cover that flips out to show you the digits of the cell phone. This is a space saver. The flip does not cover the power button, menu button, or the send button, which makes this cell phone very convenient and efficient to use. The buttons are relatively small, which is not a problem with me because I have tiny fingers; however, people with large fingers may find this cell phone hard to use. Basically everything about the V 111 is tiny, but it is perfect for me because of my size. The antenna is small, but you can expand it to get better reception.
Excellent Features
The V 111 contains all of the following: a backlight LCD with status icons, paging, messaging, voice mail, caller ID capability, 18-button keypad, exceptionally long battery life, choice of 27 different ring sounds, menu-driven interface with prompts for easy operation and configuration, call privacy, “any key” answer, auto-redialing, one-touch, and speed dialing with 199 memory locations.
The features I have with my cell phone is caller ID, which is an excellent feature. There are so many people that call my cell phone and they end up having the wrong number. I can just read the number, and if I am not familiar with the phone number I don’t answer it. I also have the backlight, 18-button keypad, long battery life, 27 ring sounds, menu-driven interface, call privacy feature, “any key” answer, auto-redialing, one-touch, and speed dialing with 199 memory locations. I did not have to pay any extra for any of these features, I guess that is why the V 111 costs so much. The 199-memory location comes in handy. You can do a search in this cell phone for a name, I doubt anyone could program 199 memory phone numbers, but it is a nice feature to have. I think I have used 12 of the memory dials so far. I can use the menu feature and go to phone book and select a name and just press the send button. Another nice feature about this phone is once you put someone in your address book with their name and phone number, anytime you call them or they call you it automatically displays the phone number and the name you gave it in your address book. For instance my house phone number comes up as “home” when someone from my house calls me. The V 111 also gives you the choice of having your cell phone vibrate with incoming calls or you can choose from the 27 ring sounds, or you can have the phone vibrate and ring with an incoming call. I also have a calculator on my cell phone, which is a nice feature to have when I am in the grocery store.
What Comes With The V 111
* V 111 phone
* one-slot desktop charger
* one rechargeable battery
Complaints
My only complaint so far is that the reception is not as clear as my other cell phone was. I don’t know if this is because of the fact that this phone is brand new and it just has to get used to the settings or the fact that my area has been having bad weather and bad reception might have to deal with that.
Recommendation
I would definitely recommend this cell phone to anyone with tiny fingers. This phone is perfect for me, and I love how it just fits in my hand. All of V 111’s many features are definitely worth the extra money if you have any to spend. I love my new cell phone and you should go to Verizon Wireless and check out this cell phone.
