deaconvolker's Full Review: LG WM0642H Front Load Washer
I confess, I'm an internet "review" reading junkie when it comes time to make a purchase decision I like to see what my fellow consumers that have gone before me think. When my old Kenmore washing machine gave it up for the last time, I started my research with Epinions, CR, and even the review pages on various vendors websites.
Then I made my buying choice...LG WM0642H. I needed it NOW and found a semi-local BestBuy with one in inventory. I must say here that I'm glad I had done all the research prior because the poor kid at BB really couldn't tell me much more about the machine than what was printed on the sale tag, after I pointed out the sales tag info! But, I'm not reviewing BestBuy am I!
This machine was easy to move, easy to level, and I found it very intuitive to operate. My wife "pretended" to not understand all the buttons and gizmos...but it was just a nice try to get out of helping with the laundry!! Anyway, I had my first load of wash in and running I think in less than 20 minutes after I had the machine in place.
Does it have the LONG wash cycle times some complain about on front loaders? Yes...IF you opt for them by telling the maching to consider it a "heavy" soil load. If you aren't playing in the tar pits then I'm suggesting the "normal" soil load is going to do your family just fine and that cycle is in the std. 45 min. or so range.
I LOVE the high spin rpms! I will opt for it nearly every load and my clothes spend SO much less time in the dryer I walk around with a smile on my face, knowing that I've just saved money!!
I admit, I was a tad skeptical on the "my clothes are so much cleaner" claims of others...but guess what..."my clothes are so much cleaner"!! I work in a retail automotive parts store and get my shirts and work pants dirty with hydrualic hoses, brake dirt, oil, grease...you get the picture. My old Kenmore would leave oil stains from time to time, and seriously, deposit stains from time to time where none exsisted prior to the wash...the LG gives me NO stains to date, and I have to say even the colors of my clothes are brighter! I know, but it's true!
So, when my Kenmore gas dryer dies, guess where I'm starting to look for it's replacement?
