Lack of voice dialing spoils an otherwise nice phone

| stelliger's Full Review: LG CU515 Cell Phone |
In many ways the LG CU515 is a nice phone. It's too bad that with all the myriad features they decided to include, they omitted one of the most basic and useful features the customer on the move would crave.
That feature, of course, is Voice Dialing.
The CU515 doesn't have it. Not in any form. Nada. Which amazed me. Apparently much of the literature and feature lists out on the web for this phone are errnoeous. However the lack of voice dialing is confirmed from the source.
That means this phone is impossible to use hands-free. The closest one could come would be to PAY for a "voice dial" service to the tune of $5.00 per month - but this still requires the dialing of 2 digits, not to mention WHY have to pay for a feature which lesser phones have had for years now?
Voice dialing aside, the CU515 has some nice features, especially along the lines of media. The plum color was excellent, being almost black but with enough color to make it interesting (it's darker than in most photos). The screen is visible and the sound is decent. It has a mini-SD slot to expand the memory.
This phone shows a lot of fingerprints, though, and dropped a couple calls on me. Also the push-to-talk button is always getting pressed, being right above the volume controls and there's no obvious way to kill that feature.
If you have no need for voice dialing and rarely use your phone while driving, then this phone might be worth considering. However, for me, that was the only real "feature" I wanted in a phone so I had to regretfully send it back for a phone with this capability.
