Pros: stainless steel finish looks great, easy to operate, convection worked well looks nice
Cons: unreliable, fault codes, flickering lights, oven light works when it wants to, annoying beeping
I purchased this LG oven from Home depot in 7/08, I did not opt to purchase the expensive extended warranty, now I regret that decision, from flashing lights, to now a F-3 fault code which comes on while cooking a roast or whenever it wants, but lets start out with why one would purchase this oven and to give this product a fair overall review. The oven has amazing looks from the beautiful stainless steel finish to the blacked out cook top, what caught my eye was the blue finish inside the oven which to me made the oven aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Operating the oven you need to read the manual to understand the differences between convection roast and convection bake, I noticed it does speed up the cook time but not by much. Cleaning the cook-top one has to be religious about it, following the manuals instructions makes the task a little easier. Burners heat up well when using appropriate cookware, flat bottomed high quality pans are a must, however; regarding the F-3 fault code and other idiosyncrasies of this oven prove to be a major overall disappointment, manufacturer instructs one to follow the manuals instructions on resetting this or other fault codes by "simply" pressing the clear button, I also followed instructions to cutting power to the appliance and unplugging it, to no avail, I can't recommend this product for future oven purchasers. It takes forever to heat up also. For the expense of this product one would think it would at least last for a few years. I bought the product because I thought LG was a quality product, I hate this product because it doesn't meet basic expectations for an oven. Potential buyers beware its not a reliable product.....I now use the oven to hold household items I never use anymore!
