| zapdbf's Full Review: LG VX10000 (8 GB) Cell Phone |
This phone is easy and convenient to use, but the touch screen (not unlike any other in this class) can be damaged easily, and if the screen is damaged it is impossible to dial out, where as other phones you still have a keypad that you can dial with. I am a electronic technician and i repaired this phone after a screen crack.
The structure of the phone case hardness could be better. the ribbon cables and connectors are good quality. The phone is not user friendly. What I mean by that is that if you were to give this phone to a friend or someone who does not use it that much it is difficult to work initially. Keyboard seems to be good quality with hard tactile dome switches that have a nice sharp "click" feel to let you know the button has been pressed. Key bounce is low (double key press) because of this as well.
When viewing the phone book and scrolling using the touch screen, the sensitivity to scrolling will sometimes be frustrating when you click on an item then drag your finger off instead of straight up, the screen will interpret this as a scroll and not a click, and cause frustration when you are in a hurry.
Overall it is a good tekkie phone, if you are a tech geek and like gadgets you will love this phone. Personally I like this phone but I know it would be a bad choice for a teenager who will drop or abuse the phone; it will not take much abuse to damage.
