Life's Good. That's LG's slogan. But some consumers feel otherwise about the LG Chocolate: They feel Life isn't "Good" with this phone.
I say, Life couldn't be better.
Let me tell you why:
Firsthand experience
I have purchased, used and destroyed so many phones, i honestly could not count them on two hands. Every phone I have owned began to wear out within a few weeks of ownership; cosmetically as well as internally. First the outside would scratch and chip to reveal an ugly whiteish plastic underneath. The paint coating on the buttons would wear off, removing the numbers and letters on the keypad (Better get those letters memorized!), and then ultimately the screen would go screwy, the pixels would clash, and the software would start flipping out.
My LG Chocolate has been going strong for well over a year now! No phone I have ever owned made it past 5 months... if even that.
Granted i'm not especially nice to my phones, the fact that the LG can put up with the abuse it's gotten is truely remarkable.
Very Attractive
Many of the new phones today are either too plain, or too flashy. Too many small buttons to work with, or too little options to get anything done in a reasonable amount of time. The typical "flat" paint style also gets old. The LG stands out with a polished front panel and a glossy backside. Some of the new "polished" exteriors get ruined in a few days with many other phones. The LG has a tough, but shiny exterior that has put up with every form of abuse i've given it (not on purpose of course). It's molded out of a SOLID, strong black plastic. No more ugly white plastic coming through the scrapes!
The touch buttons are also nice. They are tough and don't break like a conventional "clear" or "select/next" buttons that are used ten times more than all the other buttons on the phone (maybe if twenty-first century america could spell, the clear button wouldn't be used so much). You can set the sensitivity of the touch pads to match your preferences and set them to "vibrate" or "not vibrate" when you touch them.
The lighting of the phone is also unique. Red and blue LED's around the click wheel and also on the touch pads compliment to Black, Red, or Blue shell.
Software
Many other phones also have inferior software. They will run slow and sluggish, are plain and ugly, or are just pure dumb. Some phones require more than ten steps to send a simple text or add a contact. Shortcut buttons on the Chocolate eliminate unecessary time to acces certain menu options; totally customizable. The menu has an attractive look in all three "themes" you can choose to set. It's fast, reliable, and nearly NEVER freezes or stutters.
Extras
The LG chocolate also has little goodies. Excellent volume and sound quality are rare among a phone not purely intended for music. Superb resolution on both camera lense AND screen display. Up to 2G memory card slots and 64MB internal memory built in. Total control of sounds, pictures and music. Editing for pictures and organization of music with a clean-looking, sharp music player skin.
These are a truely helpful set of extras to keep even the most ardent of thumb-twiddlers happy.
The Lg Chocolate has satisfied my needs, and then some. It makes Life Good!
