Pros: Nice size, full screen, lots of cool features.
Cons: The small keys and the flimsy side covers.
The Bottom Line: Overall, a decent phone with a stylish design. You get alot of features for the price. However, may or may not be extremely durable.

| daria85's Full Review: LG VX8550 Cell Phone |
I've had the LG VX8550 for a couple of months now. I mainly purchased it because of its looks and capabilities. It is a sleek looking phone with many features, like playing mp3s. I do like the navigation wheel but I have to wonder how long it will be before it quits working.
This is my first LG phone. In the past I have had only Nokia phones. This LG has good reception as long as your not in a building that gets poor reception. Overall, I'm pleased with this phone but I don't know if I would buy it again. I say this for a number of reasons. First, the keys are very small and are in a grid, making it very easy to accidently hit the wrong key. Secondly, the ports for the phone charger, head phones, and micro sd are located along the sides of the phones. The covers over these seem very fragile as, with the charger port, you must pull and turn the cover and it is connected by a small black wire of some sort. I keep waiting to see how long it will be before this particular cover somehow snaps off. My last major issue with this phone is what happens when you make a call that requires you to enter numbers i.e. 1 for english. When talking, sometimes the sensitive touch keypad activates and when I'm done with my call, my contact list or messages are open.
I haven't played alot of music on this phone but the playback is decent enough. I'm a little disappointed in the camera as it doesn't seem to produce as sharp an image as my previous camera phones. I would definitely recommend getting a screen cover as the screen is very large and could very easily get scratched, especially if carried in one's pocket.
Earlier, I said I didn't know if I would buy this phone or not. I said this mainly because I don't know how the side covers will hold up. I must admit, overall, this phone is pretty good. The menu and features are pretty easy to use. I would recommend it to friends while making my above criticisms known. Is this phone perfect? No, but most phones aren't. However, it is a pretty good phone and I have not had any problems with it thus far. After its gotten more use, I might think differently.
