| Karandago's Full Review: Ll Bean Daypack |
LL Bean backpacks are the best out there. Period. Personally I have had my backpack for the past four years and it has withstood everything. The thing is in great shape, the padding on the straps is perfect, the zippers are all in complete working order, and aside from a few stains the backpack looks great (there are no holes or tears anywhere). I have put this pack through absurd amounts of strain too. Last year I didn't really have an acceptable locker and thus I carried all of my books with me. My backpack weighed something like 25 pounds, and I stuffed it full, every day. [And while I'm sure I saved money on new backpacks the chiropractic bill is up there... I would advise against testing to see how much strain your backpack can take, because your back will yell at you about it.] Along with carting around huge amounts of books day in and day out (did I mention spacious it could hold 3 large textbooks, several 3-ring binders, a few notebooks, and some smaller novels and my precious TI-89 calculator... see my review on that one too...) I also carried my backpack up and down several mountains. (And mountain trips can be pretty grueling.)
I have personally had to return and replace (which can get expensive) backpacks because they have fallen apart under the stresses and strains that I put them through but LL Bean has withstood the tests of time and come through on top. If you are going to buy a backpack buy an LL Bean they are the best.
The only problem that I have with my LL Bean backpack (and it should be mentioned) is that it is well... too big. And though I guess I need the size and use it all it can be a pain having something sticking two feet out of your back... (turning and knocking things off tables, hitting people, etc.) but until someone comes up with a better place to carry books there really is no better alternative.
