Gardener Bob creates gardens for a living. He has a lot of gardens to care for each year & when nature doesn't provide enough water, he becomes the watering machine. For years, he searched for a reliable sprinkler that would turn itself off; but none ever lasted a season -In Fact, some broke almost immediately.Now, things have changed....
An earlier design by Nelson,the Dial-a-Rain; was a complete disaster. The timer stripped, the hose connector broke off the body-You name it, it happened. (I also tried Gilmour sprinklers but those broke almost immediately.-I should write a review on them, as well).
This new model seem to have corrected many of the faults and added a new feature -a narrow strip settling. This allows the user to water those skinny long areas without wasting water.
After using these sprinklers for the past season, I give the Nelson 3030 Triple Spray high marks. My only caution would be not to stress the area around the hone connector as it is the weakest part of the timer and if it snaps you'll have to though the whole thing out. You cannot repair it (Believe me, I tried).
The best thing about having items is that I don't have to remember to come back in an hour, or if I do forget to come back, I won't have a flood.
