LUSH isnt new to me, back in the day when it was strictly Canadian I had placed an order on the Canadian site and also had a Canadian friend sent me some goodies to try out. That was years ago. Now theres a LUSH store 10 minutes from me. So what took me this long to actually visit it? I was afraid. Afraid I wouldnt be able to walk out of there without spending a butt load of money. And then afraid I would be back to do the same and often.
However, I finally took the plunge and while Im glad I did my bank account may never quite be the same.
LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb
This goodie is not small by any means. Its not quite the size of a baseball, but close. According to the little info sheet I got on it at the store it is 180g/6.3 oz. You could probably get away with only using half though I didnt want to mess with it and tossed the whole thing into the tub. LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb is a pretty lilac shade, not bright and not pastel and has the word BOMB pressed into it.
It smells softly of berries without being sickly sweet. There are other notes in the scent as well that really soften it up, I can only guess these other notes are the bergamot and frankincense that LUSH mentions on their web site. This bath treat isnt cheap by any means, I paid $5.65 for mine and Im not quite sure why as its selling for $5.40 on the LUSH web site.
LUSH says, Despite its dark exterior the Blackberry bath bomb is the perfect antidote to winter days and nights. A berry blast with bergamot and frankincense will uplift your spirits and keep you motivated to maintain the resolutions of a new year. LUSH.com
My Blackberry Bath Bomb Experience
I hadnt had the best day and needed to uplift my spirits as LUSH said so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to use this pricey little goodie. I ran the tub water hopped in and dropped in the gorgeous LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb. It immediately began fizzing like crazy and almost as quickly as the fizzing began my bath water started to turn the most regal of purples. Being good sized the fizzing lasted a few minutes. Even before the fizzing ended I could see that inside this delightful treat was something more. That something turned out to be a paper with BOOM! BOOM! written on it. Im not quite sure how thats supposed to go along with this particular bath bomb, I think Ooooh, ahhhhh or Breathe deeply would have been more fitting but what do I know?
Once Id gotten the BOOM! BOOM! message I kicked back in the tub and just inhaled. As I did I felt myself becoming really calm. Maybe it was the bath bomb, maybe it was that I finally stopped doing anything and just laid back and maybe I would have become just as calm had I not used any bath bomb. I dont know but at $5.65 a pop Id like to think the bath bomb had a little something to do with how good I felt.
The water turned the most beautiful shade of purple and the scent was delightful. It was soft, sweet, clean and relaxing. I could definitely smell the blackberry along with the other notes all the while the scent was not overpowering in the least. The scent definitely lingered on my skin for several hours which was fine by me.
I have fairly dry skin and very sensitive skin but did not have any issues with the LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb. In fact in and out of the water my skin felt like it had a slight layer of silk put on it. It wasnt exactly hydrated, but it felt so soft and amazing- almost like I had put on some lotion, but without that lotion/body cream feel.
Would I buy again and should you?
I am certain I will purchase the LUSH Blackberry Bath Bomb again but at that price it wont be a weekly or even monthly treat. However, a few times a year definitely! If youre looking to really pamper yourself with an amazing fizzy bath and enjoy soft berry like scents look into this bath bomb. I dont think youll be disappointed.
