| jdhauer's Full Review: LUSH Christmas Kisses Bubble Bar Personal Care |
Every holiday season, LUSH brings out a limited edition line of merchandise. There are seasonally themed ballistics, bubble bars, shower gels, soaps and shower jellies. One of 2007-2008's offerings was the Christmas Kisses Bubble Bar.
Most of the bubble bars from LUSH are shaped like a lump of playdoh. Not Christmas Kisses which is shaped like LUSH's regular offering, A French Kiss. Christmas Kisses is shaped like a Hershey's Kiss. Depending upon the batch, it can be completely bright orange or have white swirled through. Sticking out of the top is a "quill" of cinnamon. I always thought that they were simply called sticks but the LUSH catalog states otherwise.
Christmas Kisses is a solid bubble foam bar in "kiss" form, not a liquidy creation. Thankfully, Christmas Kisses is not as hard as A French Kiss. I'm able to split this bubble bar into two or three baths since there are so many bubbles. Simply crumble the bar under running water and watch the bubbles multiply. Oh, and the water turns a lovely coral orange that does not stain the tub too.
There is no glitter on Christmas Kisses. It's not full of twigs or seaweed or scratchy plastic things aside from one cinnamon quill that can easily be removed. The scent is cinnamon with touches of clove, lime, patchouli and orange. While I am definitely not a clove or patchouli gal, this is a lovely combination - particularly for the winter months. Not so much so in the summertime! This is complemented well by LUSH's Bob Soap.
While I didn't notice any special moisturization from this bubble bar, neither did I notice a dried out feeling from using it. The cinnamon did not in the least irritate my sensitive skin.
Since Christmas Kisses is a seasonal item, there's no guarantee that it will make another appearance this fall. However, I hear that it was popular so hopefully, the ghost of Christmas part will become the bubble bar of Christmas future.
