lyoness913's Full Review: LUSH Cosmetics Squeaky Green Solid Shampoo
I have been using solid shampoo from LUSH for well over a year now. My favourites are Godiva as well as Karma Komba solid shampoos. I decided that when LUSH came out with some Green products, that I would do my part for the environment and buy them! (Yeah right! I just wanted to try new stuff!)
As it turns out, I've probably purchased six or seven Squeaky Green Solid Shampoos from LUSH over the past few months. Hubby loves this so much, he has to have one for home, for travel and for the gym. (Of course, when you buy two solid shampoos from LUSH you get a free shampoo tin, so this helps!)
Both Hubby and I have very greasy hair. I do Tae Kwon Do a lot, and I sweat. It makes my hair limp and lifeless, and I sometimes have to wash my hair twice a day. There is no way that I could go without washing my hair for a day if I wasn't planning on wearing a baseball cap or pony tail. Squeaky Green is the answer to the prayers of people who have greasy hair!
Squeaky Green looks like a miniature hockey puck and it's green. It weighs 1.9 ounces and it costs about $8 USD. To apply solid shampoo, you simply wet your hair and rub the shampoo bar directly on the scalp. After a few strokes, Squeaky Green produces a very rich and thick lather. It has little twigs in it which LUSH says is 'nettle,' and they scrub against the scalp. The scent is very natural and herbal, and it sort of reminds me of a 'walking through the forest' scent. It's very earthy. Squeaky Green also tingles the scalp with peppermint, and I can always detect a bit of a mint scent when using this product.
Once Squeaky Green is rinsed from my hair, it feels completely fluffy and soft. By the way, my hair really does squeak after using this solid shampoo! I love the results I get, and so does Hubby, who says his scalp feels wonderful after using Squeaky Green. It beats the greasies! I never use conditioner after using this product because I love the clean feeling so much!
The only negative thing I would have to say about Squeaky Green is that is does leave a bit of a mess. As the shampoo bar gets more and more use, some of the 'nettle' comes apart and the bar looks like a little pile of sticks in the shower. I would definitely recommend always using a shampoo tin with Squeaky Green.
Here are the ingredients, taken from the LUSH website:
Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Perfume, Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Nettle (Urtica Dioica), Water (Aqua), Tea Tree Powder (Melaleuca Alternifolia), Peppermint (Mentha piperita), Rose Absolute (Rosa centifolia), Chamomile Blue Oil (Matricaria Chamomilla), Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Coumarin, *Geraniol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Limonene, *Linalool, Hydroxycitronellol, Chlorophyllin.
LUSH Squeaky Green Solid Shampoo is another fantastic shampoo bar from LUSH. It cleans the scalp and makes hair fluffy, and it definitely helps with greasy hair. I would recommend this to anyone who needs something uplifting.
