katopasna's Full Review: Lush Demon In the Dark Soap
One of my favorite Lush soaps is the Demon in the Dark Soap. I asked for something minty and this is what they suggested. This soap isnt the best looking soap in the bunch. It has a very dark, murky green which border lines on almost black. There is a icky wax layer on the outside of it that needs to cut away if you want to be able to use all 4 sides of your soap but I cant help but loving the minty feeling I get with it.
This soap works great with a washcloth or scrubby. I get lots of suds and nice tingling feeling to go with them. I also the love the fact that this soap doesnt disappear as quickly as some of the other Lush soaps do, this one has definitely lasted the longest. I am also pretty sure that me cutting it up into smaller pieces also helps.
The Demon in the Dark Soap has 3 different oils in them which are spearmint, clove bud and peppermint and yet I am left not feeling oily or even that moisturized compared to other soaps. I bought me a big chunk of soap and I have to say that when I picked it up at the Lush store, I didnt even notice the price until I got home and I almost fainted because it was about $25.00. Yes, this soap isnt cheap and lucky for me I bought a pretty decent size that I wont need to buy anymore in the near future.
For those not next to a Lush store these can be ordered online at Lush.com for 7.50 and you will get a 3.5 oz chunk. If you do visit a store be sure to check the wrappers or ask them for a certain size because these soap can get pricey and they do have them cut up into a variety of sizes. I just checked the wrapper on mine it was $35.00 bucks a pound.
I noticed on Epinions and even on the Lush site reviews are mixed and I have to say that the soap could be more mintier. I would actually prefer it to leave an even more tingling feeling on my skin like some mint scrubs I have used but for a soap I am pretty happy with it.
