| angel011's Full Review: Lush Mud Flats |
I got Mud Flats soap as one of the New Year gifts from my mother, together with Honey, I Washed the Kids and Sea Vegetables. Now, Mud Flats doesn’t look attractive, it’s brown and earthy, but I liked the smell, earthy and clay-like. My skin liked this soap, too.
My skin is, well, confused – some parts tend to get oily, some are dry, some are normal, and Mud Flats did fine for them all. It was refreshing and exfoliating, the smell didn’t stay on my skin for long so I could use whichever body lotion I wanted (although, after this soap, body lotion is not really necessary, the skin is smooth and nice to the touch). I’ve also noticed that the best effect was if I used Sexy Peel (another soap by Lush) the day before. But even if I didn’t, my skin was nice and smooth after using Mud Flats, and I felt really, really clean.
Now, there were two things about Mud Flats which I had found to be irritating. It can leave brownish smudges on your shower (it washes easily with water, though), and while you wash your skin, the water that pours down your body and the shower runway looks brownish. Not a pretty sight. Another unlikable thing is that Mud Flats is sometimes a bit difficult to wash off of the body; I had to almost massage myself under the shower in order to get the soap off. It doesn’t happen often, though, and it did my skin some good.
As with the rest of the Lush products, this soap doesn’t have artificial preservatives and it wasn’t tested on animals.
Mud Flats doesn’t melt too quickly, although it is a good idea to keep it out of water when not in use. I still haven’t spent mine, and I got it for New Year (I don’t use it every day, though, because I use some other soaps too).
Overall, I really like this soap. It leaves my skin smooth and nice and really clean, and not so likable visuals it gives and the necessity to sometimes massage my skin to get it off are not a big problem. I’ll definitely buy this one again.
