I've been using LUSH products for some time now and I am still, after all this time, working my way slowly through all of the amazing goodies that they have. One of the products I have just recently really started trying are the LUSH Shower Jellies. I was fortunate enough to receive a very generous slice of Sweetie Pie from a good friend, as well as a nice sized sample from LUSH. Needless to say, this is one LUSH product I'll be going back for!
Price & Location
LUSH Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly is available at their website, lush.com as well as any LUSH store and even on ebay.com. The prices recently went up for LUSH products in North America so, Sweetie Pie now runs $6.50 for 3.5 OZ and $13.00 for 7 OZ.
The Details
You're probably trying to figure out just what a LUSH Shower Jelly is, right? One thing is for sure, this is a unique bath product! A Shower Jelly looks and feels exactly like Jello. It's wobbly, it's wiggly and it's just plain fun. The best way to use Shower Jelly is to pinch off a piece and squish it up in a bath pouf or loofah. Doing so will reward you with plenty of suds to bathe with!
Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly is, in my opinion, the girliest jelly LUSH offers. It's deep purple in color with bits of glitter and sparkles throughout. LUSH formulated Sweetie Pie with natural ingredients such as Bergamot Oil, Cypress Oil, Cassis Absolute and even sour cherries!
I wasn't sure what I was going to think about the scent of LUSH Sweetie Pie. If you're familiar with LUSH then you probably already know that this jelly falls in the same family with their famous Comforter Bubble Bar. I was pregnant when I used Comforter and to my nose there was a strong scent of cat pee. Not a good bathing experience! Fortunately, Sweetie Pie smells nothing like cat pee - just sweet, berry goodness! It's sweet and delicious and such a comforting scent to me. The way it lingers and smells on my skin is my favorite part. It smells so sweet and berry like - wow! The scent really lingers too! My girls are also big fans!
My Experience
One of my dear friends was raving about how much she loved LUSH Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly and encouraged me to give it a try. Having already experienced LUSH's berry line, I was hesitant. What if it smelled like cat pee to me too? I was so relieved when my little chunk arrived and a sniff test proved to be pleasing and nothing like cat pee!
I have been intrigued by the LUSH Shower Jellies but was never sure if the fact that they were neat looking warranted spending the money on them. They are a bit higher priced than regular LUSH soaps after all! I have discovered just how wonderful these neat little jellies are though and I'm afraid both me and my girls are hooked!
One of the things I love about LUSH Sweetie Pie is that it's more moisturizing than the regular LUSH soaps and shower gels. My skin feels smooth instead of dry and in need of immediate moisturizing. My skin is never left itchy either!
I simply pinch a chunk off and squish it into my bath pouf. A couple squeezes later I have plenty of foam and suds to bathe my body. It only takes a small pinch! The only thing I negative I can say about Sweetie Pie is that I wish it gave me a little more lather. I'm one of those people who loves a lot of frothy, foamy lather to bathe with. Sweetie Pie isn't super frothy like I like, but, the scent and fun of it makes up for it!
My girls, ages 7 and 5, love the entire Shower Jelly concept. How cool is it to bathe with wiggly jello?! I keep a small sample cup in their bathroom at all times. It's a great way to encourage them to wash their hands too! They think it's great fun to keep the wiggly jelly in their hands and squish it with their fingers! They both adore the scent of Sweetie Pie as much as I do. It's sweet and girly and delicious!
For those who are glitter-phobic, don't worry! Sweetie Pie contains glitter, but, it doesn't stick to you! It's sparkly and pretty - but it won't transfer over and turn you into a glitter fairy!
Overall
If you love different and unique bath products with a deliciously sweet scent then LUSH Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly is for you! The girls in this household love it!
