For about 20 years now, I've used L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick. Mica is my favorite shade, but there are several others that are great shades too. I love the formula and the scent - this is a brand that I keep coming back to again and again. One of my favorite shades of L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick is Gilded Pink.

In a nutshell, L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in the Gilded Pink shade is a light to medium pink lipstick shade with a touch of gold shimmer. This is definitely a shimmery lipstick, but is not over-shimmery.
It comes in the same shape of lipstick tube that it has come in for many years, which is a square-ish tube with a somewhat plain but classic look and a shiny gold band around the middle of the tube where the cap meets the middle of the tube. The top of the cap is slanted and is shiny gold on top. You might remember that this tube was a darker, pearly purple years ago. However, the tube was changed to a matte metallic gold in recent years.
From L'OrealParisUSA.com: From LorealParisUSA.com: Packed with ultra-hydrating Omega 3 and conditioning Vitamin E, Colour Riche Lipcolour keeps lips moisturized, soft and supple.
There is .13 oz. of lipstick in each tube.

I mainly use pink lipstick shades, which are usually light or medium shades. I think that darker lipstick shades make me look older and more pale - two things I don't really like. When I saw the very pretty color of Gilded Pink, I was immediately attracted to its shimmer and touch of warm gold. Since I usually purchase cooler pink shades, sometimes I come across a warmer pink shade that works well for me. Gilded Pink is one of those shades.
The gold shimmer in the Gilded Pink shade is not very obvious, which is something I like. I like lipsticks that I can wear to work, so I don't like a lot of gold shimmer that looks like it should be worn in a nightclub. The shimmer looks somewhat shimmery but is not at all glaring or overwhelming.
I love the way that all of the L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks perform. They glide on and have more of a classic lipstick feel, which is a bit more thick than that of some of the newer lipstick formulas in the drugstores. These days, a lot of lipsticks have a lighter "gel" or glossy finish. Since the texture is thinner, these lipsticks wear off quickly. You won't find that with the L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick - it has a satiny finish. Since it's a bit thicker, it tends to wear longer than the new-ish lipstick formulas. I can get a couple of hours of wear from a L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick as opposed to 20 minutes from some of the newer lipsticks.
One thing I have always loved about the Colour Riche Lipsticks - and the Gilded Pink shade is no exception - is the scent. It has always had a pleasant, sweet scent. I'm so glad that L'Oreal has not changed this scent over the years. For some reason, it's a comforting scent to me. I guess it reminds me of the "old days".
Since the Gilded Pink shade has some shimmer in it, I was afraid that the shimmer might stay behind on my lips after the color wore off. Fortunately, that is not an issue for me with this lipstick. When the color wears off, the shimmer goes with it. And speaking of the color wearing off, once the color is gone, there is a bit of moisture left on my lips. My lips never feel dry after this lipstick wears off. As far as I'm concerned, this is another reason to continue to purchase and wear L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick.
A note about the tube: When I was younger and in my 20's, I thought that the L'Oreal Colour Riche tube was rich-looking with its pearly purple finish and gold trim. However, it really wasn't - I just didn't know any better. With the updating of the tube from purple to gold, it has a more rich look these days and is one that even now I am proud to have in my makeup bag.
Overall, this is another great shade in a great, classic lipstick line. It probably would look best on women whose skin is more pale, but it may look good on someone with a medium skin tone. It's a great warm pink shade that is quite different from other pink shades out there.
Price and Purchasing Information:
I paid $7.99 for my L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in the Gilded Pink shade at my local CVS Drugstore. Most drugstores and mass merchants such as Wal-Mart should have this shade as well. Online, it can be purchased at Drugstore.com for about $8.00.
