Pros: Unique spongy applicator tip for pen-like precise lines.
Cons: Pen can dry up if you're too slow.
The Bottom Line: I liked this liner. This liquid liner offers the fine tip of a brush but the firmness of a pen.

| sangria808k's Full Review: L'Oreal Line Intensifique Extreme Wear Liquid Line... |
Liquid eyeliner was a concept I'd feared since pre-adolescence. My idea of such a product was that it was only paired up with bright pink blush, baby blue eyeshadow, and coral red lips.
It wasn't until recently when my usual pencil liner wasn't giving me the intense line I was looking for. After a week of research and comparison shopping, I decided to put L'Oreal's Line Intensifique to the test.
About Line Intensifique
L'Oreal's Line Intensifique comes packaged in your typical drugstore-type blister pack. It's a dark, charcoal grey plastic pen that weighs 0.05 fl. oz.
L'Oreal claims:
- Extreme liquid liner
- All day wear that lasts 8 hours
- Won't smudge or fade away
- Opthamologist tested
New Territory
If you've never used liquid eyeliner before, this will really be an adventure. The tip of the pen is a thin, flexible pointed sponge-like applicator that's about half an inch in length and a millimeter in width (there's a picture of the tip on the package). The liquid liner is contained in the inkwell so if you need to reload the tip, all you have to do is dip it back into the container.
The first time I used this, I applied my eyeshadow as usual, making my liner second to last to be applied (mascara was last). It was very awkward applying the liner with the spongy applicator tip (because it would often flop around) and the line ended up being uneven and spiky. And a couple times during my early test days, the pen would fade a little mid-line because I was being so cautious about drawing the line, that it was taking forever for me to draw it so it often ran out too early.
But then as I gradually got used to using a pen and when I learned the timing method, I was able to create a smooth, even line.
Another thing you may want to consider is the drying time. Because more than likely, you wouldn't be happy with a pen that dried up before you finished drawing the line, they made the formula so you would have an extra few seconds to get it just perfect. You may want to wait a little bit before opening your eyes all the way or else you'll end up with a smudged second line on your eyelid (if the liner is: shiny, then it's still wet; if it's matte, then it's probably dry).
"Lasts Up to 8 Hours"
I have yet to determine if this eyeliner really does last up to 8 hours, but I can tell you it certainly lasts longer than a pencil liner, which can often end up smudged and faded by lunchtime.
On the other hand, if you think a liquid liner is probably too strong of a line for you to handle, but really like its longevity, you could always soften the line with black eyeshadow or a black eyeliner pencil so that even if the pencil or the shadow were to fade away, you would still have a bit of the line leftover.
Nice First Try
I think this was a good liner. It may take some practice to finally get the right line, so I'll say this now, you probably won't get it right the first time, but don't give up on it. Would I buy this again? Yep, definitely.
Who's This For?
Anyone who wants the definition and intensity of a liquid liner and is wary of a brush liner. The sponge applicator has the precision of a brush liner, but the firmness of a pen liner.
Where Can I Buy This?
Wherever L'Oreal products are sold. I bought mine at Ulta.
