| ziprz's Full Review: Labatt Blue |
Oh Canada,..,..,.. (I don't know the words to your national anthem). Labatt's is your finest export. I would vote for NAFTA a million times over just to ensure the continued pipeline of this beer into the northeastern United States. The great thing about America is that we don't have to go to the "Beer Store" to buy this stuff. It's available at every bar, supermarket, convenience store, liquor store, and who knows where else in the states that border Canada.
Sure, the American version is far less potent than the "real" Canadian variety. This doesn't mean that Labatt Blue isn't the most versatile beer around. This is your fill the cooler, buy the keg, stock the fridge, everyday drinking beer that goes with anything. It is the one-step-up beer that you can drink whenever you want a cold one. It is an easy to drink beer, so you won't be ashamed to serve this at parties. It is not a snooty, expensive import with a "bouquet of flavor and a slightly honey overtone, finishing with a hint of aged mahogany". This is beer. No, not Budweiser.
Take my advice, and the advice of those who write odes of love to this beer. Buy a couple of cases. You won't buy anything else.
