| heathers_mom's Full Review: Lamaze Squishy Fishie Bath Toy |
This is an item that I bought for my 7 year old when she was just an infant. She loved books, but hated getting her hair washed. She loved baths except for that part. I figured what the heck. We'd give it a try. She was around 1 year old when I got her this. She would get to read the book only after her hair was washed. It seemed to work pretty good. It didn't tame all the crying all the time, but then again what does???
This is a foam book with a cloth covering. The colors are very vibrant and nice to look at. It is also a nice soft toy. If you have more then one child who takes a bath at the same time you don't have to worry about them hitting eachother on the head.
It doesn't loose it's color or it's appeal once it's wet. It looks just like it is dry. It also floats. A nice feature when your child is still in the stage of 'diving for her toys' but doesn't quite understand how to hold her breath. For some reason they don't realize that their head doesn't have to go after their hands. My kids liked to 'swim' in the bathtub. This toy at least kept them above the water line.
I also liked that this toy dries fast and can be used out side the tub too. Ours is 7 years old and it still looks new. Infact, I have let my mom keep it for when the kids spend the night at her house.
The fish puppet comes in handy for the kids to try washing with, or to just make funny diving and swimming motions.
Ours have enjoyed this book and it has held up nicely over the years.
