A few years ago, I was “visiting” Wichita Falls, TX for Medical Field training for the U.S. Air Force. One of the “highlights” of my visit there were the multiple bites from bugs, spiders, and who knows what else. We walked everywhere we had, or wanted, to go using foot paths through the woods and we were living in long open buildings. Even with our military uniforms on with the pants tucked into the boots, the bugs would get us. They’d also get us at night while we slept in our sleeping bags on the cots. It wasn’t unusual for us to get up in the morning and have a contest to see who got the most new hits (bites) during the night.
While on one of our few moral (escape) runs to the main base exchange (store) I found Lanacane Maximum Strength Anti-Itch Crème Medication. After reading the back of the package I quickly brought my new find up to the cashier to make my purchase. Once purchased I wasted no time ripping open the package and applying the cream to every bite, at least the ones I could reach at the time anyway, the rest had to wait until I got back to the camp.
Uses:
This Crème is designed to temporarily relieve: intense burning itch, painful stings, cracked, chafed skin, poison oak, ivy, and sumac. It also helps prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns. Scratching can tear up skin, but this Crème saves your skin from harmful scratching which helps skin look and feel healthy again as well as to kill germs and help fight infection. It contains no hydrocortisone, it does contain an anti-bacterial enriched with Vitamins E, A and D plus moisturizing Aloe for dry, itchy skin. When itchy skin dries out due to over-scratching, hot or cold weather, Maximum Strength Lanacane - with its special Triple-Vitamin plus Aloe formula - actually helps replenish moisture to dry skin as it stops intense, painful itching. The package states “Instant Itch Relief”, I would have loved it if it did work instantly, it didn’t, but it did work fairly quickly to stop the itch, which stopped me from tearing up my skin any more trying to stop the itch the “natural” (scratching) way.

Directions:
Adults and children 2 years and older: Clean the affected area and apply a small amount to affected area not more than 1 to 3 times daily, you may cover the area with a sterile bandage if desired. Children under 2 years: consult a physician.
Warnings:
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not apply over large areas of the body. In case of deep or puncture wounds, animal bites or serious burns, consult a physician. If condition worsens, or if symptoms persist for more than 7 days or clear up and occur again within a few days, discontinue use of this product and consult a physician. Keep out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
