Over the last, oh... couple months, I had been on the outlook for a new foundation. One to replace my existing Clinique one.
Although, Clinique's Continuous Coverage has done me great justice for years, it's so heavy that it was not a friend to the texture of my usually dry skin.
I used Continuous Coverage for years to help conceal acne scarring, but thankfully a little miracle in a bottle called Bioderma's sebium h2o cleanser has cleared all of that away and I went out of my search for a less dry and heavy foundation.
After hearing many great things about Lancome's Absolue Makeup, I headed to the Lancome counter.
Over the years, I had been quite disappointed with the coverage, or lack their of in Lancome foundation... so I wasn't expecting much. I also had great difficulty finding shades to match my neutral-cool VERY fair skin tone.
The Lancome consultant did a couple color swipes of me in the two lightest shades of Pearl 05 (a neutral shade) and Pearl 10 (a cool shade).
To my surprise, Pearl 10 was my match as it pretty much disappeared against my skin.
I handed over the $55.00 and headed home.

As soon as I got home, I headed straight to the bathroom and tested this stuff out for myself.
The packaging, although I may be the only one on the planet, I love. I hate the pumps these companies seem to always use these days. You can never get the last 10% of that makeup out! And should you be concerned about it not being sanitary, use the spoon!
I proceeded to evenly apply the Absolue foundation evenly across my face. VERY little foundation was needed for this, and the coverage was ALMOST as good as Continuous Coverage... and this stuff was MUCH lighter.
It was also, VERY VERY VERY moisturizing...
I had no need for a concealer, as this covers under eye circles really well.
As far as being anti aging, I'm 25... so I really can't comment on Lancome's claims in that department just yet!
I'm thrilled with this foundation year round. It offers great coverage, in a MOISTURIZING foundation which really does wonders for me during the cold months.
I've had no break outs or any problems at all from using this over the last couples months.
However, the color selection is so limited. The plus is that even with the lack of color selection, there are shades for us with a ghostly complexion. Pearl 10 matches me perfectly and I'm about as pale as it gets! The neutral shades (N) also tend to not be neutral at all, and are quite warm, so keep that in mind if you're shopping for a shade online.
Although this stuff is a lot more expensive than I'd like, it definitely is worth it if you can find a shade.
