| ifif1938's Full Review: Lancome Renergie Intense Lift Anti Wrinkle and Fir... |
I've been using Lancome's Renergie face cremes for quite a while now...Though my brain still thinks of me as a young woman, I have to admit my body and face keep trying to prove my brain wrong...It's an all consuming battle but it's good to know Lancome is helping to fight that battle.
This latest product, Renergie Intense Lift Anti-wrinkle and Firming Creme to come out of their labs, is very similar to the one I had been using, only a bit more "intense" or so they say and, if I may say, I do agree with them...Since I've been using this product I have noticed a decrease in the fine lines near my mouth and around the area near my eyes...I can't tell very well about my forehead since I still have those steri-strips from my recent stitches when I had 2 small carcinomas removed from my face...Though it's not a throat creme, I use it on my neck, as well on my upper chest, the area that has been exposed to the sun for so many years.
According to Lancome, there are "microlifters" in this wonderful smooth creme made from Dermo-bonding peptides, that tighten and lift the skin...as far as I'm concerned, I believe this to be true...Immediately after applying I can see with my own eyes the fine lines seem to smooth out...That overall dry feeling, just before applying, disappear and my face feels so much better without any greasy feeling..Does it actually lift the skin? That would be hard to tell but my skin definitely looks better after applying.
Made for all skin types it works on my combination skin which is dry around my eyes, a bit oily on my forehead and around my nose, though it's pretty normal everywhere else. I've been lucky that way, since I do have good skin tone naturally, even with all the sun I've been exposed to
This is considered an "Active Redefining Treatment" that lifts and firms the skin by forming a network of 25,000 microlifters that form a network to tighten the wrinkles and reduces their appearance, leaving it firmer and tighter without a tight feeling.
What is a microlift? That's a good question, which I've asked the Lancome representatives in Bloomingdales, all they can actually answer is that women, over the age of 40, have what are called micro-points on our faces, this face creme and the rest in this line of Renergie micro products, go after those points to lift, tighten and firm the skin.
So, that's all I know about what the manufacturers claim, but as for me, I do notice a difference in my skin and the fine lines...No, I haven't noticed the lines, that are slightly bigger, than what can be considered "fine lines" disappear, but they do feel softer and may be a bit less defined, only a plastic surgeon can get rid of those I'm sure, but I like to think of them as character lines and I can live with them if I have to. After all, the people that know and love me consider me quite a character, I can live with that too!
Though the cost of these products are high, they last a long time..The small sample jar I have been using is still half full after more than 2 months of use. I use it daily every night before I go to bed since I use Absolue in the morning, but when I go out in the evening I use it under my make-up as well. Since this Lancome Renergie Intense Lift Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Cream has that most important SPF 15, daytime use would be just perfect.
One other thing, I like the fact that this creme has a very light scent with no medicinal smell, something I really do not like another point in it's favor.
At $76 for 1.7 ounce jar, is it worth the price? That's hard to say since everyone has their own idea of what they want to pay for a product like this. To tell you the truth I've just been using the sample sizes that came with my gifts with purchase..I'm on my second little jar now and still have 2 more in my drawer, (lucky for me my daughters give me theirs), but, when the time comes that I will need to buy it, I will but first, I would check e-bay! It's amazing what is for sale on E-bay.
I always wonder where these sellers get their inventory and how they can sell at those prices...always remember, it's very important to check the sellers feedback.
