Pros: Sturdy construction, firm deck, powerful motor, great for runners with knee problems
Cons: Price, temperamental belt may need frequent adjustments, very basic controls
The Bottom Line: If you have tender knees like I do, I believe you'll get your money's worth spending a bit more on the Landice than you would buying a cheaper brand/model.

| shibbo1eth's Full Review: Landice L7 |
I read a review on here comparing the Landice L7 and the Pacemaster Gold. It gives specifications, but ended up not really fitting my needs. If you go to treadmilldoctor.com, it rates both treadmills pretty highly. My husband and I drove to two different sports shops and tried both out. And we were won over by the PaceMaster because of its price. And my husband thought it was just fine in comparison.
But I've got a special problem when it comes to treadmills. I used to do a lot of treadmill running. But then a switch in gyms meant a switch to a less stable machine. I noticed right off that the machine shook more when I ran on it, but I figured the gym would have quality machines. Well, within a month I developed knee problems. And my knees have been a problem for me since. And the PaceMaster Gold was not easy on my knees. I ended up taking the PaceMaster back, and lost a return fee as well as the delivery fee both ways.
I ended up writing to the Treadmill Doctor, explained my situation. His recommendation for a more stable machine was to look at either Lifefitness, Precor or Landice, saying that Landice had the most firm deck. So I got the basic Landice 7.
The PaceMaster sales guy had a bit of an attitude that I wanted to return the machine, saying that the Landice wouldn't make a difference on my knees. Knee problems are not affected by treadmill machines. But after switching, I disagree. It's not a cure for my bad knees, but I find that my knees tolerate the Landice much better. After just a few days with the PaceMaster, my knees became so sore I just couldn't run anymore. And that's not getting my money's worth. I'm glad that I cut my losses with the PaceMaster and bought a Landice instead!
When my Landice was being set up, the delivery guy did warn me that the belt was temperamental on the Landice and might need occasional adjustments. But so far I haven't had any problems with it.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Landice for people like me who have knee problems that are agrivated by even slightly wobbly machines. Though you may have a stronger skeletal system than me, and be able to handle even the worst running machine.
The quality and durability of this machine is at a 5 star level for its price range. But I give it 4 stars because the console on the basic model is so simple. Speed and elevation controls are only up and down arrows --there is no quick start like a lot of other treadmills. If you want to move up to the cardio trainer or much more fancy executive trainer consoles, you'll have to pay quite a bit more.
