| cbermom's Full Review: Lands' End Deluxe Diaper Bag |
My children are less than a year apart. To be exact, they are 10 months, 3 weeks apart. When my son was born, I bought a nice looking inexpensive diaper bag. It worked fine. However, when I realized I was pregnant again and would have two infants/toddlers at the same time, I knew the average diaper bag would not be good enough. I had heard good things about the Land’s End diaper bags and settled on the Deluxe.
Right away, I was quite impressed with the bag. It was incredibly large on the inside, yet small on the outside. There are two bottle/cup pouches on the front as well as an insulated pouch that can hold another two bottles or cups! The middle section is large and roomy but with a whole lot of mesh pockets so things don’t get lost. In addition, there are two large pouch pockets on either end inside. These pockets are similar to the bottle pouches on the front of the bag and can hold a full size wallet as well. There are two additional zippered compartments to the bag. One side contains a nice, thick changing pad (that comes with a wet-clothes pack) and the other side opens up and has straps so clothing can be neatly tied down like in a suitcase. In addition to all this, there are velcro pockets on the outside.
I found this bag indispensable when my children were very young. We took it everywhere. As they got older, I stopped using portions of the bag, which helped it appear smaller. Even now, when my children are 2 and 3, if we go out for the entire day, I will bring this bag. It is perfect.
Another great thing about this bag is how convenient it is for travel. Whenever I have to fly anywhere, this bag is my carry-on. I can fit so much stuff into it, I feel totally prepared for whatever can (and will) go wrong. In fact, I recently took a very short trip with both kids. I managed to pack the three of us in this bag alone. It was the first time I’d traveled with no checked luggage since before my children were born! And – even stuffed to capacity, the bag does not appear too large.
I would highly recommend this bag to any parent of multiples or of children less than two years apart. It is truly remarkable how durable and convenient the bag is.
