| deeann70's Full Review: Lands' End Little Tripper Diaper Bag |
I'm one of those people that pack stuff so tightly in a bag that it has little chance of surviving a few months. While in the hospital after the birth of my second child, I received those Similac and Enfamil diaper bags that are good for a quick trip . Both lasted a little over a month before bursting at the seams!
Now I happen to be a loyal Land's End customer and had seen the diaper bags for awhile but wondered if they were really any good. Well, I decided to purchase the Do-It-All Diaper which is the larger diaper bag. It's very roomy but it's way too big for a quick trip to the grocery store. I decided to purchase the Little Tripper bag for $19.50 at the time. I think the prices have gone up to $24.50 by now. They have about a dozen colors to choose from like Navy, red, green etc. What's nice is that they don't have bunnies or bears all over them so hubby won't feel silly carrying it around. Land's End will even monogram it for an extra $5.00. The bag is made of what they call a 210 denier nylon. I have had spills in the bags and never had a problem with the liquid leaking out of the bag. Not to say that it can't happen.
The bag arrived in less than 3 days via UPS standard shipping. It has a little holder for one bottle. I think the bottle holder should have been on the outside of the bag rather than the inside. It's kind of a pain to reach in the bag for a bottle when you're driving. There is also a matching changing pad which is slightly smaller than the pad that comes in the Do-It-All diaper bag. I really like the changing pad. Other pads I've used are so small and never cover the entire changing table in public restrooms the way this one does. Also inside the bag is a little pouch that you can put soiled and/or wet clothing etc. There is room for about 4-5 diapers and a change of clothing. Okay, I admit it, I stuff a helluva lot more stuff in there.
What I really appreciate is the parent pocket in the front of the diaper bag so you don't go rummaging for your keys. In the parent pocket, I am able to put a small wallet, my cell phone and my keys in here. The label says you can spot clean the bag but I've gone as far as submerging the entire bag in a tubful of soapy water and and cleaning it with a sponge and hanging it upside down to dry and it looks as good as new. Well, it's been over a year and the bag shows no sign of wear and tear whatsoever. I use it so much that it has become my purse.
Word of advice
Land's End changes the colors of their bags on a yearly basis from my experience. You may be able to pick up their diaper bags at OVERSTOCK on their website (www.landsend.com) for less. Last year the LITTLE TRIPPER BAG was down to $12.00. Keep in mind that you may not get the color you want but I happen to like most of their colors. They have basic colors so you should be able to match your stroller with no problem.
Thanks for reading my review.
