Re: The truth about BF'ing... (Reply to this comment)

Unfortunately, some people are so pro-breastfeeding, they can't acknowledge that it does hurt sometimes. It would be better for everyone if we had the most accurate information so we could all be more successful. I thought it was me too - when I tried breastfeeding my first baby. If I had more accurate info, and this product, I would have probably kept going.
thanks for the comment!

The truth about BF'ing... (Reply to this comment)
by ladyhawk2_99
After my first, I thought for SURE that breastfeeding wouldn't hurt with my second. Wrong. I wish someone had told me that it just does hurt while your nipples aclimate. It made me think I was doing something wrong. It still hurt the first couple weeks with my third, and cracked nipples were horrid. I wish I'd known about this product!

Congrats on your new arrival! Hang in there - breastfeeding is tough at first, but it gets better soon. :)

Thanks so much to everyone for the well wishes!! When my first daughter was born we came home from the hospital to cards, flowers and gifts. Sadly, the third child doesn't get a fraction of the reception that the first one gets! You have all made my daughter's birth extra special!!

NIce review (Reply to this comment)

I am allergic to lanolin so would never be able to use this product. Thanks for sharing this is your first time breastfeeding. I did not go that route with my kids so reading it from your viewpoint was a very nice change since I am clueless to the whole process.
Continued good luck

....on your beautiful new little one. Just the thought of a baby makes me smile. :)
You could probably find it cheaper but I was sporting a couple of cracked nipples at the time which, for once in my like, trumps bargain shopping.
You are so right! I remember that cracked nipple feeling and being almost in tears when my 3rd daughter would latch on....yeeeouch...it took my breath away. I think I finally got it under control using Vitamin E, but sure wish this would have been available at that time.
Thanks for another wonderful review and again, congratulations....make it a great day....kath

Thanks for your comment!! This stuff is pretty good - I would have enjoyed nursing my other two a lot more if I had a stash of this stuff handy. Congrats on the new baby in your life as well!

CONGRATULATIONS... (Reply to this comment)

...of the birth of your third!
I actually liked this better than the PurLan, and you're right, it does stain. I had to use breast pads, so it wasn't an issue for me. My brothers wife is due any day now, and she's never heard of this, so I'm thankful I read your review to remind me to pick up a tube for her. Excellent review, as always!
Mary :)
P.S. I love your description... "smells like a wet sheep." I'd say that was pretty accurate!
