| murkydreamer's Full Review: Laura Mercier Loose Powder |
I bought this after hearing many glowing reviews on Laura Mercier's Loose Powder. Can this loose powder really make that much of a difference in how your makeup looks? The answer is most definitely yes!
^^^What's inside the package?^^^
A very finely milled loose powder with French Cashmere Talc, giving off a super natural yet polished finish. I have this in "Translucent", which unlike many other so-called translucent powders...is actually translucent. It doesn't change the color of my foundation at all and doesn't make me look washed-out or ghostly (boo!). It comes in 4 colors: translucent, ivory, beige, deepest beige.
^^^Ok, how about the package itself?^^^
It's pretty much your standard loose powder container with a sifter inside, which is helpful in not ending up with powder everywhere whenever you try to apply it. The container is made of frosty plastic with a dark brown screw-on top, printed with "laura mercier." 1 oz.
^^^How do I put this stuff on?^^^
I prefer using a large powder brush to lightly dust the powder over my foundation. It you use just the right amount it will give you a flawless finish without looking cakey.
^^^Who's it for?^^^
Anyone looking for a loose setting powder with or without color. It's pretty much goof-proof because the texture of the powder. If you use this after foundation and before the rest of your makeup, it makes such a big difference!
^^^Where can I find it?^^^
Upscale department stores, lauramercier.com, and usually at a discount on eBay.
^^^My take on it^^^
This is a really great product! My favorite thing about it is how natural it looks when you have it on. It makes foundation last longer, doesn't emphasize pores or cake at all, and does a decent job controlling oil. I find that a light and quick application keeps the shine away and provides a more "finished" look than just foundation alone. I've actually also worn this without foundation and it works just as well. I highly recommend that you check out the translucent powder...there's a reason that it gets such rave reviews from so many people :). It's pricey, but the container will last you for a long, long time.
