Pros: Sheer Yet Buildable Coverage, Easy to Blend, Natural Looking Finish, Decent Range of Colors
Cons: Expensive, SPF 20 Not Full-Spectrum, Not Really A Moisturizer, Occasional Breakouts
The Bottom Line: Might work for some, but not for me. I highly stress that you try this out before you decide to purchase it. Nice, but not nice enough for $38.

| murkydreamer's Full Review: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer |
Let me start out by staying that the name of Laura Mercier's "Tinted Moisturizer" is slightly misleading. It's slightly creamier/heavier than most tinted moisturizers on the market. In fact, it offers a similar level of coverage to a sheer foundation.
^^^What's inside the package?^^^
A creamy, lightweight formula tinted moisturizer. The texture is quite nice. It blends easily and effortlessly, offering a buildable amount of coverage ranging from sheer to medium. It has a nice smooth finish and gives us the "No. Really, I'm not wearing makeup" look that many of us strive for. Comes in 4 shades: Porcelain, Nude, Sand, Tan, and Almond. An exact match isn't that crucial as it is pretty sheer. Contains SPF 20. Active Ingredients: Octyl Methoxycinnamate & Menthyl Anthranilate.
It claims: "Perfect for all skin types, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 provides ideal protection from harmful and damaging rays of the sun. It's lightweight formula moisturizers the skin while adding a smooth, healthy glow to your complexion."
^^^Ok, how about the package itself?^^^
A slim squeeze tube with a screw-on cap. Not the most stylish, but certainly I would not call it ugly. Convenient to toss into your makeup bag or bring with you on the go without worrying about product leakage. 1.5floz/44.3 ml.
^^^How do I put this stuff on?^^^
Laura Mercier tells you to "apply to clean skin with your fingertips" and "layer for additional coverage." You can probably use your fingers, a foundation sponge, or a foundation brush, whatever your personal preference. As I mentioned before, the application is fairly straightforward...just remember to blend blend blend! :)
^^^Who's it for?^^^
Anyone looking for a product to even out skin tone and possibly hide some minor blemishes. This is sheer, so it won't cover a lot. If you don't like the look and feel of foundation, this might be for you. Fine for dry or combination skin, but I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin.
^^^Where can I find it?^^^
You can get this product at upscale department stores, lauramercier.com, or usually at a discount on eBay.
^^^My take on it^^^
I have mixed feelings about this product.
*The Good*
At first, I like it very much because it gave me a nice, natural-looking finish. It didn't really look like I was wearing makeup...you could tell a little bit, but it didn't scream "Hello! Look at my foundation!" I have combination skin and I found that I needed an additional moisturizer under this (which was fine with me), as it wasn't really moisturizing enough.
*The Not-So-Good*
Interestingly however, it did tend to make my face borderline shiny by the end of the day, which I was not quite as pleased about. You can cut down on that effect by topping it with loose powder. This product did break out on me a little, mainly around my chin area. While the coverage is sheer, it was definitely heavier than other tinted moisturizers I've tried, as well as some other foundations. This has SPF 20, but it doesn't contain a full-spectrum sunscreen. So keep that in mind.
*Overall*
I've used up the entire tube that I purchased, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing this particular product. It works decently, but for a hefty $38 I expect a lot more. I know it's gotten rave reviews from many people, but it's not for everyone (not even everyone who wants sheer, lightweight coverage). I'm currently using Clarins Colour Tint, which costs around the same and actually looks exactly like my skin...only better! It's an ok product, but not something I'd highly recommend, especially not considering the price.
