Pros: Strong, works great
Cons: Red color harder to clean out of the sink
Lavoris Cinnamon mouthwash has been around for over 100 years. I just found this out after doing a bit of research. You see, it all started at my dentist's office. After my last visit, he gave me a sample of Crest Pro Health toothpaste to try. I didn't look at it closely at all, and tossed it into my travel bag. Well when I used it over the Holidays, I found out it was Cinnamon flavored toothpaste. I'd never tried a cinnamon flavored toothpaste before and what do you know - I really, really liked it - the only problem was that it clashed with my peppermint mouthwash. So I went looking for a cinnamon flavored mouthwash, and it turns out to be harder than I thought. Crest, Scope, Listerine - none of the big guys make one! Scope used to, but it has been discontinued. The only thing I saw was ACT and a small bottle of something called "Swish". Swish didn't make any antibacterial claims, and seemed to be marketted more like those breath sprays (Remember Binaca?) - I think the tagline was "Before you kiss, Swish!" (rolleyes). So, I got the ACT brand. When I got home, however, my wife said she found this stuff called Lavoris at Big Lots! So we had 2 brands to try. Side by side, Lavoris was the clear winner. It has a very bold cinnamon taste, with a hint of clove and menthol. ACT tasted very wimpy by comparison.
It claims on the bottle to have a low alcohol content. I do not detect any alcoholic flavor undertones at all. They call the germ fighting ingredient "Zantrate" and it is supposed to be really good at fighting morning breath. I would say this claim is true. I use it every time I brush. The only downside is that it seems to be a little harder to wash out of the sink when you spit it out. I'm wary of it staining, so I make sure it gets cleaned out, but I don't remember having to do that with my old "blue" bottle.
So it is a great product, and it is cheaper than the big guys. I call that a winner.
