Pros: easy start, light weight, great power, deck design, durability, less fatigue. good on slopes
Cons: can't get carb parts for my 30 year old Lawnboy -
We have the SELF-PROPELLED Lawn Boy Gold with the 6.5hp 2 cycle engine and aluminum deck. We have a lot of yard, and various mowing callenges. We have many lawnmowers. This is the strongest, lightest, most unstoppable regular homeowner's walk-behind 21" mower on the market (we paid $700 with ALL the accessories). It will walk right through 18" tall hay, if you do not go too fast. The "personal pace" design makes it a breeze to use - it propels itself along just as fast as you want to walk, and no faster or slower. This mower with normal maintainance will last you 20 years . They are discontinuing the 2 cycle engine model (the only one to buy) so hurry up and get one if you can find one. 2 cycle engines are simpler and lighter weight and more powerful than any 4 cycle engine could ever be. I know the price is steep, but it will last 20 years, and will outlast and out perform any other similarly sized mower. The cheaper
mowers wear you out, do not last as long, and lack real power. Any Lawn Boy with aluminium deck with 2 cycle engine is a good lawmower. We have another not self propelled 19" aluminum deck 4.5hp Lawnboy that is almost 30 years old, and except that we are having trouble finding carbeurator parts, it would still be running strong. We will find those parts and we will put that 19" back in service, God helping.
