Pros: Fewer trips to the spigot, and happier dogs!
Cons: Heavy when full, bottle cracks when played with too hard, "burps"
The Bottom Line: Best watering option for our 3-dog home so far, for convenience and price. Not indestructible, though.

| roflol's Full Review: Le Bistro Feeder and Waterer |
Two boxers and a terrier mutt have used our LeBistro for a couple of years now, and it's been a useful item. When full, our dogs can't or don't dump it like they did with a regular water bowl. It was decently priced at the pet store, and I liked the concept.
The water bottle itself is pretty strong plastic. It held up well for a long time, but when it's empty the boxers get to knocking it around to get our attention and, well, the last time they played with it the bottle cracked - no holes, just cracks. I did fix it with large volumes of hot glue, and it's held for the last few months. I haven't seen any replacement bottles in the pet stores, but they may be available somewhere... I just don't want to pay for that until I have to.
At any rate, the base of the thing is quite tough - I see *somebody* has chewed on ours and roughed up one edge, but this does not affect the function.
With boxers, it's hard to tell if the sliminess left on the bowl is due to algae or boxer drool, but really it's not that hard to get cleaned off. Between the three of them, the waterer gets emptied every few days, a little more often when the weather is hot. Far less than with any other waterer we used.
The biggest drawback is how heavy that bottle is when it's full of water, so if you have to lug it up and down stairs like we used to (before we put an extra spigot in the laundry room) it gets to be quite a workout. Still, the reason it's so heavy is that there is so much water available, and that means *fewer* trips up and down the stairs, right?
After you have the bottle full, you'll need to pop the base onto the neck of the bottle and flip the whole thing upside down to get the water going into the bowl. While this is ungainly, someone with average strength and agility should be able to handle it. However, for some this may be difficult enough to require assistance, or possibly another watering system altogether.
As other reviewers have noted, this thing "burps" when used, and that can take a skittish dog some getting used to, but mine overcame that and don't even look up at it anymore when it does that. My toddler thinks it's hilarious, though.
