THE Fridge Magnets to get!

Pros:Simple product with REAL educational value. Strongly magnetized, attractive, unobtrusive.
Cons:Only capital letters.
The Bottom Line: I would strongly recommend this product for it's simplicity, educational value and low cost.

I recently bought this set of magnetic letters for my children (ages 2 and 4) and I am so thrilled with our experience with them thus far. I am a teacher as well as a mom and I have never seen a set of magnets that I have been this impressed with.

This set of magnets includes one of each letter - only the capital letters, and a smallish (4 inches by 4 inches) magnetic battery operated flat "box" that also hangs on the fridge door. Children easily place a letter into the screen on the box and press down and hear the name of the letter and then the sound song, for example, "H says Ha, H says Ha every letter makes a sound H says Ha". There is also a button they can press that sings the alphabet song. This little device also has a volume control and truly is not as annoying as most "singing toys".

The letters are too large to choke on, but small enough not to take up the entire front of your fridge. This product is also small enough to use on the side of a file cabinet next to moms computer or on a cookie sheet in the car. The entire back of the letters are strongly magnetized so they don't fall off the fridge every time you open it and they don't slide all over the place. The best part of this is BOTH of my boys can easily play with this and they both love it. My little guy was humming the letter song all day today.

The only thing the teacher in me would change about this product is that the letters are capitals. If given the choice I would have picked the lower case letters - as that is what we see most often. I really would have liked if they put both the capital and lower case letter together.

This will become my new gift for the year for all the preschoolers I know!
