Tool_Phanatik's Full Review: Leatherman Tool Leatherman Wave
Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. Really hit the nail right on the head when they designed this incredible multi-tool! This thing is incredible...if you like Multi-Tools, you'll love the Leatherman Wave!
The finish on this tool is gorgeous, it is lightweight (8 oz), strong (100% Hardened Stainless Steel), and functional as ever. The major improvement(s) of the Wave as compared to it's predecessor (the Leatherman PST series) are the locking blades accessible from the OUTSIDE of the tool. That's right! You don't have to open the tool to have one handed access to a locking straight-edge knife (VERY sharp), a serrated blade (scary sharp), a file, and a saw that will cut it's way through the core of the earth. This "outside" blade access is a nice feature when your girlfriend can't get that dang cable tie off of the cluster of wires behind her entertainment center. Just break out the Wave from it's included leather sheath, flick your thumb to open the serrated blade and cut the dang thing off! She'll love you forever.
I particularly appreciate the new rounded edges of the handle (when it is opened). This is extremely comfortable when you are prying that rusty old shed door latch open with all of your might, utilizing the ultra-strong pliers with integrated wire cutters. Another nice improvement over it's predecessor is the addition of scissors. This is really nice for light cutting of materials, without threatening your own life attempting to use one of the deathly sharp blades.
Also included in this incredible tool are the usual multi-sized screwdrivers, wire stripper, lanyard attachment, and can/bottle opener.
This tool is worth every penny, and I never take it off of my belt! This and all Leatherman tools are proudly engineered and made in the USA (Portland, OR). I highly recommend it for anyone, especially the "Tool Phanatik". You will find yourself using it quite a bit, and feeling awfully depressed that one morning when you actually forget to attach it to your belt :-)
