| kwsbanker's Full Review: Legal Sea Foods Cafe and Oyster Bar |
I keep on coming back, again and again, to Legal Seafoods. They never disappoint. Somehow, the atmosphere is like coming home, even if it's a bit noisy.
Don't miss the clam chowder- it's full of clams and for the record, is the best Clam Chowder on the East Coast, or so says the White House (official clam chowder of the White House). The fish is always fresh (you may want to tell them not to overcook the fish if you like it really rare like I do). Some of the newer items on the menu, especially some of the appetizers, are interesting - crackled shrimp and shrimp with teriyaki sauce. Both good, but I'm a purist, and their salmon, tuna, even the bluefish with mustard sauce, all are delectable.
If you're looking for a romantic restaurant, however, don't choose Legals. It's laid back, good for the jeans crowd, and although a bit noisy, is just what the Dr. ordered on a cold November evening!
Enjoy. Locations are plentiful in and around Boston (Copley, Kendall Square, even in Chestnut Hill) and now there's one in NYC too!
