Pros: Batman's Lego 7782 Batwing with Joker Assault is Challenging and Rewarding
Cons: Directions are difficult by Lego standards. Wings break off easily.
The Bottom Line: Bam, POW, Zoom! Batman's Batwing 7782 by Lego includes the Joker's Helicopter and is a great if somewhat difficult to build addition to a lego or caped crusader fan.

The Batwing with the Joker's Aerial Assault Helicopter serial number 7782 by http://www.lego.com. Lego is a very engaging toy for kids who have some experience with Lego, Batman, or putting models and kits together (or, they need an adult around to help!).
This kit was purchased for a seven year old who has a good number of City Legos, and a knodding concept of Batman through the old school movie, and tv show. While this kit too a bit longer to put together, the inclusive nature, of having Batman's very cool Batwing with numerous missles, including a special rubber tipped missle that actually launches; in tandem with a full loaded Joker helicopter, and henchmen.
Many sets focus on just one vehicle or scene. What is the biggest plus about this set is that it comes with a villian and hero, so right away the mayhem can start.
MINIFIGURES: Batman, Joker, and Henchman. Plus 2 glowing minifigure heads that are supposedtly bombs. Overall, Batman and the Joker are very detailed and nice figures.
Coolness: 10
Affordability: 8
Overall: 8
Durability: 6 (I know Legos are supposed to fall apart and be rebuilt into other items, but the Batwing and Jokers Aerial Assault are more weakly desgined for play, than are many other lego sets.
PIECES: At 523 pieces, I'd call this about an average Lego value. What makes this a built difficult, is that many of these pieces are pretty unique to this set; and while certainly usable for other sets, this set could have used more pieces to make the superstructures of each vehicles more stable.
COST: Snagged in the back of http://www.tjmaxx.com/index.asp for $39.00 but retails new up to $140 and up on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com The set is probably now a bit of a collectors item as it is no longer available from the Lego homepage.
AVAILABILITY: Limited. Look online, but mostly available in resale stores, ebay, resellers on Amazon.
DIRECTIONS: 4 The most frustrating, or depending on your mood, challenging and fun part of this kit, were the obtuse directions provided by Lego. The full-color directions with step by step instruction, are often overly simplified. In this kit, there were outright errors, and often two to three pages that show progression of black pieces - but since the ink used is so dark, it was impossible to see properly just which black pieces were being used. Lots of trial and error. Very surprising development for a Lego set.
AGE: The recommended age is 8-12; I usually disregard most of these guidelines; as I've found most younger kids can grasp the directions and pieces for putting items together, and I've always suggested the ages were skewed low to protect younger, darwin winners, from digesting the colorful pieces. But, in this instance, I'd definitely get this for more of a upper elementary, middle schooler, who has a good dose of patience and expertise in building Lego or other kits.
