| flash125's Full Review: Lexar LDP-200 (512 MB) MP3 Player |
Intro
In choosing the correct mp3 player for yourself you must first look at what your needs are in an mp3 player. This is a great mp3 player for putting about 50 songs on it and then throwing it into your pocket. I am a student and I love to sit in the back of the class with this little thing in my pocket or hand and just zone out. Although I would highly discourage children from doing this unless they want to get it taken away by the teacher or get in even worse trouble.
Capabilities
This mp3 player is really great because it has these little SD cards which can take out and put back in the player and they have your songs on them devided in the play lists that you previously chose. I like this feature because it is real easy to just get a couple of these and use diffent SD cards for different genres of music. I myself had four of these stroage cards, one for rap, one for country, and then two for rock. But other than that the rest of its capabilities are pretty basic but as i once said with a price like that it's a pretty good deal which makes it a great starter mp3 player.
Sound
The sound capabilities of this mp3 player are just so-so. I mean there is nothing to complain about and it functions perfectly okay for the things that myself and as I would imagine the everyday person would need it do. But of course it's no perfect machine with amazing sound quality great levels of volume that allow you to be totally versatile. So in the sound department it's just okay.
Ease of Use
The ease of use on this player is amazing. The controls of this mp3 player are for the most part based directly in the center of the player and it makes scrolling through songs really simple becasue even my little brother can do it and hes only seven but he loves listeng to it. And I think since I only paid 40 bucks for it Im probably just going to buy him one for his birthday. The mp3 player can also be used as a flash drive to store other information on like files or pictures and other things of that nature that someone may want to transfer from one computer to another. Also this mp3 player seems to work with any computer that I plug it into so it's a very versitile player and is flexible to what type of home computer a person might have. So the ease of use of this mp3 player is great.
Battery Life
Basically the major flaw in this mp3 player and probably one of the reasons that it's so cheap is the fact that it does not have it's own battery. This player runs off a single AAA battery which gives it 9 to 10 hours of battery time depending on how often it is cut off and on. The way to get the most out of the battery life is to listen to a lot of the music in one sitting. The more that it is constantly cut off and on it uses up more battery life. So definently one the biggest factors in consindering buying this mp3 player is the memory size and the battery type.
Portability
The portability of this mp3 player is great. It will fit into any jean pocket and can be carried anywhere. I love how small it is. The demensions of it are about 3 inches in length, 2 inchs in width, and about 1/2 an inch in thickness and it weighs virtually nothing so it is easy to imagine how portable it is and how easy it is to carry
around.
Memory
The memory is really on the SD card if just the SD card that comes with the player is used it alone can hold about 25 songs. So it this mp3 player is purchased I would definently buy a few more of the memory card.
Summary
In summary this is a great cheap mp3 player for a first time user or someone who is looking for a small digital jukebox that can be taken virtually anywhere with them except underwater, and i'm not so sure about outer space but other than that it can be taken anywhere it needs to go and is a good all around mp3 player
