Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Lexol conditions leather to look and feel brand new adding life to your fine furniture and car seats
Lexol Leather Conditioner Although the illustration at top looks like a bulk jug of Lexol Leather Conditioner it is actually a spray bottle of about pint (1/2 liter) capacity as seen at the bottom of the page. Lexol is strictly the best product for preserving your fine leather articles whether they are seating surfaces, jackets, or whatever. We are in tough economic times so talking about a premium material like leather seems a little extravagant but lots of existing cars and furniture have leather and it should be preserved. If you buy a used car it's a good chance you will get leather, too, so take care of it properly and it will last the entire length of the automobile's life. Today leather is used for lots of seating surfaces and many cars have used leather in preference to traditional vinyl or cloth. In recent years unprecedented numbers of cars came with leather as standard equipment or as an option and more buyers selected this premium material. Similarly, in household furniture, many living room suites and recliners have leather surfaces. Leather is smart looking, comfortable, and durable, but it can dry out, flake, and crack over time leaving you with an unsightly problem that just gets worse as it goes. Even though it is a natural material, leather requires different care than the vinyl that it has largely replaced. As a luxury item, it pays to preserve and protect your leather seats and this product is the secret. Professional detailers and high end car washes that do detailing rely on Lexol Leather Conditioner to keep leather seating surfaces supple and lustrous. If you take it to the dealer, a detailer, or a high quality car wash and tell them to do the leather seats, chances are they use Lexol because it does a professional looking job. If you want to do it yourself, Lexol is also the product you should use. According to Lexol, conditioning leather is like washing your face with soap and a damp washcloth. They advise to do a thorough cleaning before applying conditioning. The whole operation should take around 30 minutes for an average car. The Lexol cleaner is not listed at the Epinions site, but a damp washcloth or terry cloth is used to apply the cleaner, which, like the Lexol conditioner, is available in a handy spray bottle for ease of use. The cleaner should be applied to the rag or spray it directly on the leather. Cover the seats only a section you can comfortably deal with at a time, stopping to rinse the rag free of dirt and cleaner and then wipe away the cleaner from the section you just cleaned. Go on to the next section. Dry the leather with an old soft towel. Once the whole interior is cleaned, rinsed, and dried, you can apply the Lexol Leather Conditioner to the upholstery. Ladies will understand that applying conditioner is akin to moisturizing your dry skin with lotion. To apply conditioner, again, use a damp washcloth and sparingly apply Lexol conditioner to the leather. Several thin coats are better than one thick coat. Once you have applied conditioner to all the upholstery, lightly buff with a soft towel. Pay special attention to the stitch lines. Lexol does not soften or alter the finish of the leather, maintaining whatever showroom condition left in the surface perfectly so dealers and car restorers love this product. The car can be driven immediately following Lexol treatment; however a short drying time does not hurt. To retain its suppleness and beauty, Lexol recommends the leather be cleaned and conditioned as described every 8 weeks. In your household, Lexol can treat the leather furniture, purses, jackets, luggage, and so on in exactly the same way you clean and condition your automobile interior. You can add years of life to your leather possessions by a little care. Lexol is the product that I use to take care of mine. Try it, you'll like it!
