Pros:No pedal tracks to get dirty, quiet, robust
Cons:Inaccurate calorie counter and HR monitor, Price
I used this machine regularly at the gym for 10 months. It's nice in that the foot pedals do not ride on a "track" and don't transfer vibration from grit and grim that may get on the track. I regularly worked out until I reached the 1000 calories mark. Often times taking 48-50 minutes at level 12 resistance. I thought I was doing great until repairs to the LifeFitness machine forced me to use another brand. After working out for 60 minutes at level 14 resistance I burned 730 calories. What was up I thought. So I paid to have a trainer hook me up to a computer that would more accurately measure the calories burned. The LifeFitness 9500HR was way off, it read 37% more calories burned then it actually did. By comparison the Precor EFX 556i I had been using in place of the LifeFitness 9500HR was only off by 3% which is in line with margin of error.
